Large Garden Bar Inspired by Lapland

After discovering a traditional Scandinavian cabin during a trip to Lapland, Lucy and Philip knew they wanted to bring something similar into their own garden. What started as an idea inspired by their travels has become a 14m² Arctic Bar, complete with a BBQ grill, spacious bar area and plenty of room for entertaining.

From family birthday celebrations and Halloween parties to cosy winter BBQs and summer get-togethers, their large garden bar has become a central part of their social life. With the flexibility to host different occasions throughout the year, it's given them an entirely new way to enjoy their garden.

We caught up with them recently to see how life was going with their Arctic Cabin since having it installed, and to find out a bit more about their journey with us...

Where Did the Idea for Your Lapland-Inspired Garden Bar Come From?

"So about four or five years ago, we were over in Lapland and we saw one of these Scandinavian cabins in the woods and it looked absolutely stunning. So, we thought we'd like a bit of that for our own garden. And then when we came home, Lucy did some research and came across Arctic Cabins."

Can You Use a Large BBQ Cabin All Year Round?

"Whatever the season, whatever the time of year, we're here in our BBQ hut. It's an extension to the way we live our lives and the way we socialise."

"We always wanted to have an indoor/outdoor space, and with this being the UK, we wanted somewhere that we could come into and enjoy during autumn and through the winter. We've also been able to use our cabin in the summertime. We've got the bar and it's air conditioned, and we can sit and have picnics around here. It doesn't have to be the big fire pit and the barbecue all year round. "

Why Did You Choose a Large Garden Bar?

"We headed up to the Nottingham Show site and we were first met with the smallest cabin, which was so cute. But we knew we wanted something bigger, so then we just went up size by size to assess our options and discovered the bar. We had an extension on the regular bar that they offer at Arctic Cabins, and it's just perfect for what we need."

"We're very lucky. We always get the wow factor when we have someone new come over to visit. They say, 'Wow, I've never seen anything like this.' It's completed our garden space and gives us a really unique place to go to. It's just a really fun, lovely place."
