Adam and Clare wanted a different kind of space at home. With family life keeping them busy, they loved the idea of somewhere they could escape to, unwind and enjoy quality time together without having to leave the house.
After spending an evening in a friend’s Arctic Cabin at Christmas, they knew they had found exactly what they were looking for. Now, their 10m² barbecue hut has become a cosy retreat, a stylish bbq bar, a relaxing place to read or watch TV, and the perfect setting for drinks, dinners and weekends with family and friends.
Known as The Captain’s Bar, this beautifully styled cabin shows how a 10m² Arctic Cabin can become a self-contained garden bar with year-round appeal.
"We had a part of the garden that we knew we weren't going to use. It was tucked away, and the kids wouldn't use it necessarily. It turned out to be the perfect plush spot for the cabin because it's hidden away. So, when we turn around the corner from our house, it's there to to greet us. Where it's located is just perfect for us!"

"So the reason we bought an Arctic cabin was we went to see our friends and they had an Arctic cabin. We spent the evening in there and it was just magical. We walked out, and just thought, we have to have one of these. It's absolutely amazing."
"We ended up going down on a Sunday to the show site to experience them again for ourselves. There was no pressure on selling us a cabin. It wasn't like that at all. While you can look at the cabins online and in print, really you have to come and actually experience how good these are as a product."
"We use the cabin for all different purposes. Sometimes we'll pop to the butchers and get some steaks and come and have them in here. Sometimes we come in here and watch TV, whether it's a football match or a Netflix series."

"Our decoration choice for our cabin was absolutely maintaining the Scandi-style which was really important for us. We didn't want to go too over the top with it, keep it nice and simple because it's so beautiful in its raw state."
"We introduced some features to give it more of a bar feel. So the cowhide hug to complement the reindeer skins, the disco ball and the lights so that if we want to use it for a party space (which we have done on a few occasions), we can do."
