Arctic Cabins is a family run business started back in 2001. Owner Gareth met Virpi, his now wife and native Fin, back in 1998. After many trips top Finland to visit Vee’s parents Gareth decided to bring their traditional Grill Kota Cabin design back to the UK to solve a long term problem we have here due to our frustrating and sporadic weather conditions.
At first all Gareth’s cabins were imported from Scandinavia. After the demand increased significantly he decided to start manufacturing our cabins here in the UK to ensure we could keep up with all orders. This was also to enable us to offer the same high quality product at a more competitive rate without cutting any corners.
Arctic teamed up with Rick who had been a joiner and business owner for over 30 years. With Gareth’s vast knowledge of the product and Rick’s extensive carpentry skills they set about designing and manufacturing the Ultimate BBQ Cabin.
A sloping walled version of the usual straight walled concept was built and tested. A pattern was submitted and in 2016, after 4 long years in office trays, we were given the trademarked design (registered trade mark number 00003141594) for the angled walled BBQ hut.

As Owner and MD of Arctic Cabins from the day it was created in the late 90’s, there is no-one in the company who knows the product better. Gareth’s better half Virpi is a native Finn and introduced Gareth to the world of BBQ cabins when they first met in 1998. Gareth proactively leads all sales and distribution throughout the companies and with the rapid growth of the BBQ Cabin Villages, Gareth works closely with all departments and takes pride in the high quality buildings manufactured by us here in the UK.
With an extensive sales background Cliff joined the team back in 2014 as a Sales Executive. He worked his way up to Director of Sales across all the companies in 2017. Cliff is based at our midlands show site but travels up and down the country visiting customers and completing site surveys before installation begins.
Mark has worked for Arctic Cabins since 2009. His role over the years has changed dramatically, from IT to Sales Executive he has managed many of our larger projects which facilitated his move into Project Management, run from our Head Office in Derbyshire.
Mark is in charge of all installation schedules, shows & events as well as the complex backbone structuring of the business.
Brian is our Sales Director, he has been selling Arctic Cabins for many years and there isn't much he doesn't know about them. If you need help or advice Brian will be able to help, you will find him at many of our events.
Sean runs our factory in Derbyshire and has worked for the company for over 10 years. He enjoys fishing, xBox & spending time with this partner and little boy Oliver.
Michelle joined the team back in 2016. She has an excellent eye for detail and a very creative mind. If you are planning a unique twist on the BBQ Cabins then Michelle is likely to be your designer.
Since Simon started with our company as a Sales Executive his role has quickly progressed. His innovative ideas and strong eye for detail he has taken the lead in developing new systems across the businesses.
Simon has an active sales role within the companies and you may deal with him if you have opted for a bespoke cabin build.
With an extensive sales background, David is a valuable member of our team. With a vast knowledge of all of our buildings, Arctic Cabin and Cabin Master customers are in safe hands when dealing with David.
Vicky heads up the marketing across all the companies. With a background as a professional photographer her skills have been invaluable in developing websites and company literature.
Her team manage the ad & event campaigns as well as build good relationships between new and existing customers, ensuring imagery & information is readily available.
