Do I need planning permission for an Arctic Cabin?

Since October 2008, outbuildings in England have fallen under “permitted development” rights. This planning classification allows you to build without submitting a planning application, provided certain conditions are met.

Importantly, your property must not be a listed building or on “designated land”. If your property is outside these areas, you are generally eligible for permitted development rights.

In practical terms, your cabin must be positioned at least 2m from any boundary, and must not occupy more than 50% of the total garden area. It must also not be built forward of the house’s principal elevation.

What sizes of Arctic Cabins are available?

We offer a range of sizes to suit different gardens, budgets, and ways of using the space, from 7m² huts to 25m² cabins. So, there's a size ideal for creating your perfect space, whether that's a compact BBQ hut or a large space for entertaining and friends.

In addition, we offer our Arctic Bar and our large Arctic Bar, designed for socialising, hosting and garden entertaining.

Are Arctic Cabins weatherproof?

Yes, our Arctic Cabins are weatherproof. They are designed to withstand the British elements for decades when maintained as recommended.

How long does installation take?

Installation times vary depending on the size of the cabin and site access, but most Arctic Cabins can be delivered and fully installed in a couple of days once on site. Our experienced in-house team handles the whole process, so you can start using and enjoying your Arctic cabin immediately.

How big should my BBQ Cabin be?

The size of your cabin will depend on how you intend to use it and how much available outdoor space you have. For example, a 7m² Arctic Cabin is great for a couple who wish to spend quality time together or who have limited available garden space, whereas those who wish to create a space to host and entertain all of their family and friends might opt for a large 17m² cabin.

The cost of an Arctic Cabin depends on the size, specification and optional extras you choose. Our BBQ Cabins are available in a range of sizes, with options such as bars, side rooms and porches available to personalise your space.

Can BBQ cabins be used all year round?

Yes, our timber garden cabins are designed to be used and enjoyed all year round. We manufacture our cabins using durable, sustainably sourced Nordic timber. Being a very hardwearing timber, it's perfect for withstanding decades of the British climate.

How Long Does It Take to Install an Arctic Cabin?

Most Arctic Cabins can be installed within 1–2 days, depending on the size and specification of the building. Our trained installation teams handle the installation for you, including the cabin and its base system, so there’s no need for DIY assembly.

What electrical supply do I need to my Arctic Cabin?

You will need an electrical supply to your cabin, which we do not supply. This will need to be a 32amp supply.
