Meet the team... Louise Jones

 Some description

What is your role?

My role is all about telling people about Arctic Cabins, it’s a relatively new role for Arctic, I’ve been part of the team for five months now and in that time have been developing both an on line and off line marketing strategy. I also look after our social media and write this newsletter.

What was your first job?

When I was 14 I went to work in the local pub in the village I grew up in, preparing the vegetables. I can still peel a carrot faster than anyone I know. My first proper job was as a Marketing Junior for DFS.

What time does your working day begin?

My day begins at 8.15am.

What do you most like about your job?

I love the variety, it’s a competitive world out there and customers are so savvy these days, they demand the best, getting people to like our products is a great buzz for me. Though to be fair, once people see a cabin they usually love them. I can honestly say they are a top product and make my job a whole lot easier.

If not in your present job, what would you like to do?

If I could choose anything I’d like to be a surgeon or something like that, the only problem is I don't like the sight of blood!

What’s on top of your to-do list?

From a work point of view it’s to put together a campaign to promote our cabins in the winter, escaping to a warm, snug barbecue cabin in the freezing cold with a cosy fire and good friends in your own front garden – sounds great to me!

Who do you most admire?

I have a lot of admiration for my Dad! But other than that I think what Stephen Hawking has achieved is remarkable.

What’s you biggest achievement to date?

My son, but passing my driving test was a biggie for me, it took 4 attempts, I’ve always had an interest in property renovation, the first one I did took 18 months and was quite an achievement.

What would be your ideal holiday?

It has to be Mauch Picchu but if you ask my 6 year old son he would say I would love to take him to Butlins!

What are your hobbies?

I love the countryside and walking, we are lucky living in the Peak District that there are so many beautiful landscapes to explore, I also enjoy swimming. I don’t particularly enjoy cooking but I love baking; bread, cakes, biscuits and things like that.

What’s your favourite quote?

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr Seuss

What’s your favourite song?

The Killers – Mr Brightside.

What was your best subject at school?

Biology!

What is your favourite time of day?

I’m an early bird so 5am before everyone else wakes up is my favourite time of day, though I don’t see it every day.

What’s your top barbecue cabin tip?

Install some LED lights, they add to the party atmosphere.
